Frequently Asked Questions
Kiddicomm provides a range of services to meet you and your child’s specific needs.
How will Speech and Language Therapy with KiddiComm benefit my child?
Speech and Language Therapists at KiddiComm have specialist skills in all aspects of communication development. They will advise on the best ways to support your child. KiddiComm’s input may include:
- Direct work between a child and Speech and Language Therapist; in school, at home or in a Health Care Centre, including assessment and management.
- Direct work with parents to develop an understanding of their child’s needs and what they can do to help.
- Support with a programme of work for school/nursery to conduct.
- Training courses for parents/carers and/or school to attend to increase understanding and management of specific difficulties.
How many times will my child need to see a therapist?
This will depend on the child, their individual need and their response to input. Some children may be discharged following an assessment and others may be offered a block or blocks of therapy until the best outcome is reached. This will always be discussed with the parent/carer and/or school throughout the process. Typically sessions will last between 30-45 minutes, of which, sometime will be spent discussing the child’s progress and next steps.
How much do sessions cost?
Please contact us: hello@kiddicomm.co.uk
How will KiddiComm therapists liaise with NHS therapists?
Many children we work with will have an NHS speech and language therapist (SLT) as well as a KiddiComm SLT. With parent / carer consent we will share information with NHS therapists through regular telephone / email contact, sharing of written reports and targets and where appropriate through joint sessions.
Are KiddiComm therapists suitably qualified and do they have an in date DBS?
All therapists will have the correct qualifications to practice under KiddiComm. KiddiComm also ensures that all therapists have an in date DBS certificate (previously known as a CRB).

Testimonials from Parents and Guardians

We asked Alison to do a six week block with our daughter Ellie and having tried a number of speech and language therapists through ASLTIP, my husband and I were sceptical at giving someone else another go. Not only was Alison punctual and professional but she understood all of our concerns and set us up with a number of activities that we could do with Ellie at home.

Lina and I had been saying we really needed to get in touch with you to say thank you for all your help with Alexander. When we asked him to do something he didn’t want to do we would get a short “no". However now it has been “sorry mummy / daddy, but I’m very busy at the moment so maybe later”. He also gave a dinosaur your name (having a dinosaur named after you is I think the highest honour in his world), So-thank you - both for your help, and also the way in which you did it which left him thinking of you as a friend who came to play with him rather than ever feeling pressured.

Natalie has been an amazing support since Lily was diagnosed with SLI. We have seen Lily’s confidence and speech grow and develop enormously and we are extremely grateful for her help. Natalie was supportive, extremely professional and reliable and Lily (and all of us) felt in very safe hands. We look forward to Natalie working with us again soon.
